Queen UGenius
Queen UGenius is a local Memphis spoken word artist, producer, & author. With an interest in poetry beginning age 6, Queen was recorded reciting "Don't Tell Me That I Talk Too Much" while in kindergarten. She later went on to be published in 2010's Commercial Appeal. Throughout adolescent, Queen's poetry has been featured on websites such as "poetry.com" Since 2015 she has hosted several open mics throughout the city, such as: "Memphis Got Talent Tuesdays", NTouch @ Timeless, 'Memphis Poetry Verzuz' & "Poetry, Rhythm & Grooves".
Signatures shows; "Not Your Mother's Diary, Shop Talk, Poetry & Brunch w/ Jim & Samella's, Where the Wild Things Are, & "Beauty Shop Talk" have all ranked top with its audiences, leaving them wanting more!
Queen is also owner of community outreach group "UGenius Inc" which gives back to the city's youth with needed items, as well as connecting through art with its annual showcase "When Writer's Unite", now "Save Our City 901". G Tea Genius Tonic Tea, now in business almost over a decade, is also in the hands of Queen. She has created herbal teas and lemonades with health in mind, receiving 99% positive reviews.
